The Mercury Club is proud to announce the winners of this years’ Hy Truman/Donald Goldberg and Hy Truman/Rae Kleinbaum Memorial Awards. Jacob T Silverman is the 85th   male winner and Josie Fieldman is the 34th female winner. Silverman graduated from Breck School and Fieldman graduated from Hopkins High School. Jacob T Silverman Jacob was a First Team All-State soccer player as well as a Honorable Mention All Conference hockey player. Jacob kept very busy in his high school career, both as a two-sport athlete and being involved with multiple extracurricular activities, including volunteer groups and Breck's chess club, where he competed at the national level. Jacob will be attending USC next year and intends to continue playing club soccer. Josie Fieldman Josie was a team captain and a First Team All-State soccer player. 2020 marks the 100 Year Anniversary of the Mercury Club! While we aren't able to celebrate in person this year, know that we are all celebrating together in spirit, and look forward to marking this occasion and recognizing 2020 and 2021 winners together next year. Without further ado, we are proud to announce the winners of this year's Hy Truman/Donald Goldberg and Hy Truman/Rae Kleinbaum Memorial Awards: Ali Fine   is the Club's 33rd Female Winner. Ali graduated from Blake High School this spring and will be attending the University of Wisconsin in the fall, where she will be playing college soccer. Hello everyone, We hope you and yours are safe and well. The Mercury Club Selection Committee is in the process of reviewing applications. While our deadline was April 15, please contact Steve Waldman  if you feel there is a candidate we might have missed that we should still consider. Typically our banquet is held in the last weekend of June. Due to the current environment, it is highly unlikely we will be hosting the banquet during this timeframe. We will keep everyone updated with our decision about whether to postpone or cancel this year's banquet. Again, Steve will be your primary point of contact for any questions. The Mercury Club is proud to announce the winners of this years’ Hy Truman/Donald Goldberg and Hy Truman/Rae Kleinbaum Memorial Awards. Tyler Schmidt is the 83 rd  male winner and Stephanie Garvis is the 32 nd  female winner. Both Schmidt and Garvis recently graduated from Wayzata High School. Tyler Schmidt Schmidt is an outstanding gymnast. He is a four-time Junior Olympic National Meet Qualifier, a member of the Region 4 Team in 2019 and he competed in the 2017 Macabbi Games as a member of Team USA for men’s gymnastics. Just last month, he finished 3 rd  All Around in the nation for ages 18, level 10.  He will be attending the University of Illinois where he will continue to compete in gymnastics. In the classroom, Tyler had a 3.55 GPA and has been a USGA Academic All-American 2015-2019. He was also a member of DECA, a competitive school business club. MERCURY CLUB 2018 – PRESS RELEASE The Mercury Club is very proud to announce that Hallie Greenberg and Drew Galinson are the winners of the 2017-2018 Hy Truman/Donald Goldberg Memorial Award. Hallie is the 31st female winner and Drew is the 82nd male winner. Both Hallie and Drew will be graduating from Wayzata High School next month. Hallie played tennis and golf. She was captain of the golf team and has been an All Conference golfer for 3 years as well as being a top finisher in various Minnesota Junior PGA events. She will be attending the University of Wisconsin next fall. Drew was a standout soccer and basketball player as well as being a captain in both sports. He was an All Conference basketball selection in 2017 and 2018 and received first team All State honors in his senior year in soccer in addition to All Conference in 2017 and 2018.
