The Mercury Club is proud to announce the winners of this years’ Hy Truman/Donald Goldberg and Hy Truman/Rae Kleinbaum Memorial Awards. Branson Appelman is the 88th male winner and Rose Neuman is the 37th female winner. Branson Appelman Branson Appelman is the 88th male winner of the Hy Truman-Donald Goldberg Memorial Award. He has always wanted to play hockey at the highest level and because he lives in Maple Grove, Minnesota, he had to leave the state to do so. Minnesota High School rules do not allow a player to play AAA hockey and high school hockey at the same time. His junior high years were spent in Omaha, NE, and his high school years were spent in St. Louis, MO. playing AAA hockey. Every school year he would leave home to play both high school and AAA hockey. In the summer he would return home to train. He also found time to play Lacrosse in the spring.
