The Mercury Club is proud to announce the winners of this year’s Hy Truman/Donald Goldberg and Hy Truman/Rae Kleinbaum Memorial Awards. Isaac Sanders is the 89th male winner and Daphne is the 38th female winner. Isaac Sanders Isaac is a 4-time letter winner in both track and soccer. He was also a team captain in both sports during his junior and senior years. He has run in the state track meet in both his junior and senior years. In soccer he was an all Lake Conference player as a sophomore and senior. As a student, Sanders has a 4.0 GPA and graduated in the top 1% of his class. He was a member of the National Honor Society and was on the Academics Deans List. He will be attending the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He has been very active at the Beth El Synagogue tutoring kids ages 9-13 every Saturday morning as well as being a Herzl camp Ozo counselor in training and now about to become a first year staff counselor in 2025. Branson Appelman is the 88th male winner and Rose Neuman is the 37th female winner. Branson Appelman Branson Appelman is the 88th male winner of the Hy Truman-Donald Goldberg Memorial Award. He has always wanted to play hockey at the highest level and because he lives in Maple Grove, Minnesota, he had to leave the state to do so. Minnesota High School rules do not allow a player to play AAA hockey and high school hockey at the same time. His junior high years were spent in Omaha, NE, and his high school years were spent in St. Louis, MO. playing AAA hockey. Every school year he would leave home to play both high school and AAA hockey. In the summer he would return home to train. He also found time to play Lacrosse in the spring.
